I feel that Edwards would seem a tad eccentric in this day and age. People are choosing to believe what they want to believe, and telling them they are going to hell unless they follow his religion isn't taken that seriously.

    Activity:
He would be a religious guy into today's society, possibly a priest. He also seems like a straightforward person who speaks his mind on what he believes is right and wrong. I might stereotype him as a highly religious person. He might have been one of those people that preach the word of God to everyone through speeches or writing.

Johnathan Edwards' personality might be reproachful in this modern age because religion is not as strict or strong as it once was in the U.S. People will probably try to avoid in contact with him. As a fiery preacher Edwards might receive a lot of hate for his preaching and beliefs.

  8. Activity:

Based on the description of Jonathan Edwards's personality, I almost get the sense that he would be a presidential candidate for the Republican Party. This reading paints Edwards to be a radical, and I therefore imagine him as the type of fiery preacher who today would take a stand on gun laws, immigration, and threats of terrorism, but also strike fear into the hearts of many with his views. The Great Awakening was a period of charismatic religious revival, so in that sense, I feel as though Edwards could be considered a leader. Regardless, the message behind "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" would seem frightening to many people, and Edwards therefore possesses the stereotype of a "holier than thou" attitude and is an extremist when it comes to religious perspectives.

I had to cajole my mom to let me go out after explaining I had done all my homework that was due.

I would stereotype Jonathon Edwards to be the kind of guy who would be standing on a street corner in a city shouting at passerbys about their future after death, the kind labeled crazy passionate or maybe just overall crazy.Hes overly enthusiastic about his cause which makes him off putting to new people who would maybe join him if we wasn't so in-your-face about everything.

I often cajole my parents into buying me expensive birthday presents by promising to be kinder to my brother.

Upon reading the brief description of Jonathan Edwards, I think in today's world he would be disgusted with the other various religions, or lack thereof, that people in America practice. America's incarceration rate is also extremely high, so he may assume that our country has too many "non-believers" to be successful. Immediately I can stereotype him as a strict religious man with a closed mind to religious freedom. I think that as a scholar and journalist his reporting and teaching would have been biased and maybe even exaggerated to prove his religion's superiority.

Despite his usual hostile behavior, Kim's brother cajoled her into doing his chores with compliments.

Johnathan Edwards today might be considered over-religious because of his strong association with the church. I stereotype him as the type of person who is willing to do anything to get people to side with him. No matter how far he would have to go, he would not stop at agreeing to disagree with someone. I think of him like this because when he was alive he would use people's fear to get them to side with him.

I often have to cajole my mom when I want to go out with some friends.

Based on what I read, i can guess that Jonathan Edwards might be one of those devoted Christians. He wouldn't make much of an impact today just because of how the view on religion has changed. I stereotype him as the people who shout on the streets with signs similar to the Westboro baptist church. His sermons target people who don't follow what he does by saying that they'll go to hell.

After reading the article, Jonathan Edwards would be a person who is very passionate about what he believes in. If he was doing the same today as he was doing back in the 1700's, he would probably come off to be a little bit crazy. Although he was simply pushing for what he believed in, he did and said some things that would be considered extreme today.
