The severe amount of homework that high school students must complete on a daily basis is outrageous. Teachers attempt to INURE their victims into accepting this intense work load as ordinary, but that does nothing to lessen the burden. Left with little time to explore activities that they are passionate about, it is no wonder that millions across the country are becoming DYSPEPTIC when the school bus pulls up to the red brick building that has come to consume their life. If teachers would decrease the amount of work that they give to students to complete outside of the classroom, then the likelihood that students return to school with finished assignments would increase.

DeleteAlthough he had become INURED to the constant teasing, Samuel still became slightly more DYSPEPTIC every time he heard another criticism or rude remark. Across the United States, thousands of students are bullied on a daily basis, and this epidemic is leading to increased rates of suicide and lowering the self-worth of innocent children and teenagers. This fictional Samuel character could be the "nerdy" student in the back of the classroom who is made fun of for his wire-rimmed glasses, or possibly the kicker for the football team who is picked on for his dream of becoming a professional. No matter the victim, the message to students has become clear: If you do not have anything nice to say, do not say it at all. Without an increased effort to build others up and refuse to tear them down, this epidemic of mistreatment will continue, potentially with more catastrophic consequences to ensue.
DeleteIn an unfortunate turn of events, the idea that professional athletes should be paid millions of dollars has been INURED into our society. As a result, high school and college students allured by promises of stardom and fortune become DYSPEPTIC when they fail to make it to the National Football League or Major League Baseball. This result leaves them jobless and without a direction to turn as they explore their future, as is extremely dangerous to future generation. If the hard-working men and women who truly help to run this country are better paid and the salaries of athletes substantially decrease, then the children of today will be able to explore their passions in a way that is beneficial to society as a whole. Why wouldn't we want the goals of the next generation to be practical and useful, both for them and for us?
