Behemoth - The thief fled with his tail between his legs when he saw the huge behemoth.
Antithesis - Bizzaro is the antithesis to Superman
Humans are becoming more removed from nature as the years go on. The reason for this mainly is the advancements in technology that have been happening. People are becoming detached from nature and more attached to their screens. People are beginning to use technology to capture their time instead of going outside. However, we are not completely ignoring nature. We are just more removed than we were years before.
A Big Mac is the antithesis to a fresh home cooked meal.
We are, as a society, more removed from nature than twenty years ago. Expansive urban environments have become the largest population points in the word, leading to a decline in people who are exposed to nature. An increase in the ever developing world of technology has not only detracted the public, but also protects and seals the public off from true interaction. In comparison to twenty years ago the life of an average citizen is far more complicated and jam packed with tasks to accomplish. There is just less time for people to spend in nature now a days. Not only are we removed but we are willing participants in this growing cycle of removal.
Behemoth- The train was a behemoth, slowly cutting across the landscape, plowing over everything in the way. Antithesis- After reading the book the critic said the book was missing an antithesis and had no real purpose.
We are becoming more removed from nature in contrast to 20 years ago. In modern society, now more than ever, people are becoming connected to their phones, laptops, and tvs. People now spend more time staring at a screen than lookiing outside. Kids dont play outside as much anymore, elderly people dont have to walk anywere to get food, and middle-aged people are almost forced to drive to work now. In other cases, there is very little time left to go outside. People arent able to see the true beauty of nature through a window, especially now that most people live in cities. The world is becomming more poluted and people arent going outside to see the effects of it because we are too attatched to the indoors. Despite regulations being put in place, the environment is still being damaged. In summary, We are more removed from nature now that we were 20 years ago.
The behemoth had one eye and large tentacles which were able to destroy anything in sight.
Sara always dated tall boys with blond hair and now she was dating an antithesis.
We are more removed from nature than we were 20 years ago. Technology has distanced us from getting to know people face to face as well as just observing the world around us. Having the access to a phone with a camera means that someone can easily take a picture of a sunset and slap a filter on it, instead of just enjoying the view altogether. It is easier to look at pictures on a phone, than to have to get up at an ungodly hour to see the sunrise. Unplugging will help to force people to interact with nature once again. Our generation grew up playing outside and playing on little game stations. We didn't have an Iphone at our disposal. We were actually able to fully enjoy nature and not have any technological distractions. Our parents took pictures of us on digital cameras and recorded us on their video cameras. Technology is slowly tearing us apart from nature. It's more up to the user on what they chose to do with the power of technology that can decide on whether or not nature still plays a big role in their life. Once the parents are distanced from nature, this can cause the children to inhabit the same behaviors as their parents. If nothing gets done about the separation from nature now, children won't know what it's like to go play outside on a playground with their friends. People are able to reverse this if they are willing to get out there and enjoy the view, instead of enjoying it through their phone screens.
Behemoth - Intimidated by the BEHEMOTH of a man in front of him, the frightened teenager handed over his wallet and cell phone without question.
Antithesis - Rejecting their opponents' view on stricter gun regulations, the debate team offered their ANTITHESIS, which advocated fewer background checks to ensure greater freedom and protect the right to bear arms granted by the Second Amendment.

Although technological innovations and a bustling society appear to have created a disregard for nature unprecedented in the history of the world, I believe that Americans(and those living in other countries as well) are not more removed from nature now than twenty years ago. Firstly, if the human race was truly willing to neglect the condition of the natural world, then the issue of global warming would not take such a prominent role in political debates. With additional restrictions placed upon production in efforts to reduce pollution, government and businesses across the globe are making an effort to preserve our surroundings. Secondly, technology is not as time consuming as often believed. The next generation has more social media and gadgets available to them then the generation of today, but that does not mean that the value of nature is lost upon these people. Many schools maintain programs in physical education that allow students to spend time outdoors during the day, providing them a connection with their environment. In addition, numerous students would advocate the protection of nature rather than the abuse of our environment, and their passion about preserving the world that we live in disproves the generalization that all children today are removed from the world around them. Finally, while demands in the business world have seemed to replace work with play, the truth is that there is still time for the average person to gain an appreciation for nature. Fitness has become a popular trend in the past decade, and there is a greater emphasis upon eating healthy and exercise than in years past. Therefore, thousands of people across the globe, seeming to possess a lack of interest in nature, can actually see it as a source of natural beauty through going for a walk or bicycle trip on their way to fitness. The way in which nature is appreciated may have changed, but that does not mean that complete removal has taken place. Therefore, for these primary reasons, I argue that, on a global scale, we are not more removed from nature in the present day than we were twenty years in the past.
The behemoth moved throughout the city destroying everything in it's path.
A woman who had black as night hair and was screaming at the cashier was the antithesis of me.
Nature and the outdoors used to be the entertainment in a child's life. In today's society, children usually choose to play on electronics instead of stepping outside and embracing nature's beauty. Most people do not realize the importance of our environment and take it for granted which has lead to the earth's deteriorating state. If people had not been removed from nature over time, humans all over the world would be reducing their carbon footprint by walking more, or trying to think of an idea that could help with the decreasing bee population, and making a effort to help save our world and nature. Humans would rather stay inside and look through their phones at beautiful pictures of nature, than go outside and actually see it for themselves.
Sunny clear days are often associated with happiness, and cloudy rainy days are an antithesis because they are associated to sadness.
I honestly don't think that there is a definite answer to this question. The reason being is yes, children don't go out as often to play because they are attached to their electronic device. But at the same time, we have never cared enough about the environment enough to create the Paris Agreement that would help in slowing down climate change. Until now, climate change was a crazy idea to many. As people see the effects global warming has done and will do, it has become more factual than an idea. We have never cared about the future of our environment until it got so bad that the countries decided to do something about it. In conclusion, I believe that if anything we have gotten closer to nature because of all the steps being taken to clean up our waters, cleaner renewable energy, and many eco-friendly changes being made.
Percy Jackson and his friends fought off the behemoth to save the world.
Even though they were genetically identical, as far as the twins' personalities were concerned they were the complete antithesis of one another.
We are far more removed from nature than we were 20 years ago today. Even just watching a movie from the '90s shows the massive difference between how kids pass time. While most kids used to always play outside together, today's kids tend to sit inside with each other and play video games. My older brothers, who were both kids 20 years ago, loved to play outside and could always be found biking or rock climbing with their friends. On the other hand, although we do go outside from time to time, my friends and I today tend to stay inside when we get together. Because people had less technology, they had more desire to connect with nature. Nowadays, the majority of people would rather watch a waterfall on tv or gawk at beautiful forest pictures on their cell phone than actually go out and experience nature in real life. Although I believe technology is not completely to blame, because people tend to have busier lives now than ever. So whether it is technology or just life getting in the way, people are far more removed from nature than 20 years ago.
The behemoth of a dog lunged at me, causing me to throw the rawhide as far away from myself as possible.
One could say that Janet is the antithesis of Cary due to her love of swimming and his contempt for it.
In a general sense, yes, humans are absolutely more removed from nature compared to twenty years ago. Within the past decade more life-altering technological advancements have been made and become tremendously popular. Coinciding with our timed essay reading is the idea that children no longer watch the scenery on long car trips due to modern day distractions. I wholeheartedly believe this to be true, what with built in t.v. screens, tablets, and cell phones serving as appropriate distraction during such a trip. Some people may claim to be more "in touch" with nature than others, although these folks may be neglecting the technology they use subconsciously, like t.v.s. Despite televisions not being the newest invention per say, they have certainly evolved to fit the times. Now with holographic screens and heightened surround sound t.v.s are captivating a larger audience than ever before. Even the exercised crazed people of the world are taking to technology for improved fitness rather than enjoying a work out outside. Companies like FitBit, for example, are inspiring athletes to carry on with their usual work schedule by composing an indoors workout, instead of carving out a small chunk of time to spend outside. Technology is at its peek in production and continues to heavily influence its users. As a result humans have departed from nature.
The ocean contains countless behemoth beasts in the depth of the its deep realm.
The date did not go as the couple had hope because they realized how antithesis they were to one another.
There was a lot of change that had occur since 1996. The swift advancement in technology has remove humanity from nature. 20 years ago, there were no such thing as smartphones, but now, looking left and right, everyone has glued their eyes to their handy. Computers had existed, but now the technology has transform huge and slow desktops to just a couple inches in thickness of portable laptops. Aside from the physical technological devices, the internet has also evolved from a frustrating sluggish network to a blazing fast system that now almost everyone use on a daily basis. With the advancement in technology of physical hardware as well as software such as smartphones, laptops, and the internet, people are killing time by using these technology and not spending time with nature thus humans have remove itself from nature.
Little Jenna ended up falling asleep on the couch, after Saturday morning cartoons, and when she awoke she saw a behemoth standing over her blocking the sun. Schools always have antithesis, there will always be the group of students who don't get anything done and the other group of students who get their things done and beyond that. Society has removed themselves from nature, compared to 20 years ago society lives in their own world. This world consists of new technology with nature not being cared as much for. People have to realize that nature isn't being appreciated as it used to be. Twenty years ago, there were no cars incorporated with the gadgets they have in them now. Cars were meant to travel as a family, play games on the road and sing along to the latest hits. Now society can't even look outside to enjoy the view because of all the construction and new buildings have overtaken nature. Society only goes outside to "connect" with nature to take pictures with and post their selfies on social media.
The behemoth resembled something out of a science fiction book. The teacher became the antithesis of the class in order to prolong their discussion.
Society has slowly lost touch with nature, there is no denying that. Too many people are worried about "fixing" nature. Cloud seeding, for example, is nothing more than humans attempting to play mother nature.
Steve was considered a behemoth in court due to his high rate of conviction. Bob Robertson was Steve's antithesis in court, always trying to acquit the defendants.
Humans are removed from nature now more than they were 20 years ago for several reasons. One such reason is that technology is more prevalent in today's society than it was in the 90's. The personal computer is in nearly everyone's home, and the American people are always in a rush. In South Korea, several people spend hours at a time playing video games on the free high speed internet, something that the entire South Korean government has regarded as a problem. In China and South America, the destruction of the natural environment is increasingly becoming a huge problem, and the panda is nearly extinct. Lastly, people are always in a rush, never taking the time to really respect nature.
The behemoth of a linemen came and tackled the running back before he scored.
The antithesis to my mom is my father?
Yes we are because the technology has taken over the world and the appreciation for nature went out with the new tech coming in. Now to go the beach people just pull up pictures of the beach and what not.
The behemoth mountain was an antithesis of the smooth fields at its base. As time goes on and the population of humanity increases, more and more forest lands are cut down. Swaths of deciduous forest are replaced with developments and shopping centers. Nature is harder to find, forests and woods existing in tiny pockets throughout the country, not necessarily hard to find, but out of the way. Humanity’s growing size has caused us to remove ourselves from nature more than we may have been 20 years ago, but that does not mean we have separated ourselves entirely. Nature still awes the majority of humanity, and many will take the time to find those hidden little pockets of untouched forest. Animals are going extinct at alarming rates, but entire organizations of people have banded together to protect them. Today's people may not be as immersed in nature as our ancestors, but that does not mean we have lost all love for it.
The mother told her daughter a bedtime story on Halloween which contained a behemoth creature that frightened the girl.
My new history teacher was like the antithesis of me. We disagreed on everything and had no similarities whatsoever.
I would say we are more removed from nature than we once were. Advancements in technology and what people use nowadays for fun has taken us away from "getting outside" and experiencing more nature in our lives. Especially as we age, people spend more and more of their free time in front of a television screen rather than enjoying nature and getting out of the house.
Arnold was a behemoth of a man; he was 245 pounds of pure muscle.
Ballerinas are the physical antitheses of bodybuilders.
Humanity is more removed from nature than it was twenty years ago. Humans spend innumerable amounts of time watching Netflix, they watch nature television, and they tan on tanning beds: inside. I believe this transition is occurring because nature is not as appreciated as it once was. One can see the Grand Canyon by Googling it. One can watch the nature channel and see animals. One can smell fresh cut grass by getting an air freshener.
A huge behemoth was living underneath the child's bed. The protagonist of the story was actually the antithesis to the whole story. I believe with the evolution of society we naturally conform to the way the world is when were born. As a human we become focused on industrialization and technology, but as individuals we can be as focused on nature what we want.
The Avenger movies always feature a behemoth from another planet attacking and destroying a city. My opponent supported the antithesis of my argument during our debate.
I do feel that humans are gradually losing their connections with nature. As technology advances, people feel that there are less reasons to keep in touch with nature and they drift further into a materialized lifestyle. At the same time, technology may help us become closer with nature. With modern photography, humans are able to capture life's beautiful moments that occur in the organic world around them. Organizations such as National Geographic have decided to use technology as an opportunity to reconnect with nature.
Behemoth (n)- Because of Tyler's rude actions he was seen as a behemoth in the eyes of Janet.
Antithesis (n)- The young boy was an antithesis to his older sister, they might have the same genes but they have no similarities.
It is so true when people say that society has lost touch with nature and that's because we have advanced so much in technology. We are so wrapped up in our phones that we do not appreciate the beauty of nature. If we want to see nature we could just look it up on our phones. There's really no point in that because the personal experience is so much more graceful and leaves you in awe. But people either don't have time to experience nature or are to lazy to do it.
Gillian is a behemoth in the morning. Gillian's behemoth behavior is an antithesis to Jason's good attitude towards life.
In a general sense, Americans have become more removed from nature than years past. Monetary incentives have conquered the conservationist's initiatives to protect the environment. Big business holds more power in government than ever before in an attempt to halt progress in protection of the environment, and the average citizen stands behind this status quo. The beauty of technology has overtaken the hypnosis of true nature. Children today prefer video games over going outside to play; they have no incentive to protect the playgrounds they don't use. As more generations are born into technology the relevance of nature will fade, as it has done over the past several years already.
The upcoming test was presented to be behemoth in comparison to all of the other exams.
Although identical, the twins were antitheses of each other.
The current generation today is more in-tuned with nature than ever before. Numerous aids and tools, such as the internet, have allowed our community to share the beauty of what's around us while simultaneously encouraging others to partake in these outdoor actions. Obviously, technology has consumed the time and minds of many but in comparison to the positive impact its made, the time taken is a slim trade-off. So many new adventures and movements are being put into place with thousands of people attempting and following them. These types of journeys could never all be seen without the use of technology. Ultimately, technology has been a key component that has better connected our generation to nature.
The barbaric behemoth barely fit through the door frame.
The siblings were the antithesis to each other, one with blonde hair and blue eyes and the other with black hair and brown eyes.
Society is moving away from nature. Children do not look to play outside on a nice day, but instead they stay indoors to fiddle with their electronic devices. Even adults stray from the desire to go outside. Twenty years ago nature was more or less a safe haven for people instead now people want to be inside surrounded by others.
Sally was scared that there was a behemoth in her closet.
Emily did not understand why her mom compared her to the main actress of the film, knowing she is completely antithesis.
We are most definitely removed from nature now than 20 years ago. Our generation today is so glued to the new and advanced technology. Our phones, computers, Ipads and Television is all looked at as the most important thing of our lives. We sit inside way more then people did 20 years ago. Even though 20 years ago there was technology, it was no where near as advanced and important as it is today. The environment is another huge part to why we are so removed from nature. Things that are newly invented or have increased such as factories that pollute the air. Machines have really taken over everything, now it's rare to even see something that has been invented that isn't made from a machine.
The dark ages are the antithesis of the renaissance.
Society has lost it's relationship with nature. Nearly everything has been mechanized and become artificial and a solid 95% of the society spends less than 1% of their time in nature or appreciating nature by choice.
The AP English test is like a behemoth, and I shudder every time I think about it.
Losing is an antithesis to winning.
Society today is plagued with social media, technology, and materialism. Technology has given everyone on the planet access to whatever they want to know with a touch of a button. Yet while it would seem that with all this information the human race would be as capable and advanced as ever, humans have forgotten the simplicity of their existence. Humans have forgotten the importance knowing how to cultivate the land for food. Humans have forgotten the importance of knowing how things work, and the so called "millennials" of the day "don't understand the importance of work." Technology has also caused humans to forget the importance of being alone and experiencing nature. The pitfall of technology is that it has caused individuals to move away from experiencing nature due to the fact that technology has allowed for so much education online.
Cats and dogs are the antithesis of each other based on their attitudes and habits.
Humans are slowly widening the gap between nature and themselves. Children in this generation are growing up with screens in front of their faces. The iPhone had been introduced in 2007-2008 and so many people have phones glued to their hand. Nature is being overlooked and overrun with the emergence of advancing technologies.
Lewis Carroll tells the story of a dangerous behemoth called the jabberwocky. Because the liberal woman began to see herself as the antithesis of her conservative husband, they ended up getting a divorce.
Mainly due to technology, our society has severely distanced itself from nature in recent years. We hold in our hands devices that give the power to see virtually anything on a screen, which makes the simple act of stepping outside for a few minutes seem dull in comparison. This distance from nature gives the illusion that we are experiencing the wonders of life, but the only way to truly do this is to get outside of our houses and comfort zones and form our own opinions.
Behemoth- The behemoth wreaked havoc and destroyed civilization.
Antithesis- The antithesis in the passage baffled the readers.
Humans nowadays are less involved with nature as opposed to people 20 years ago. Individuals have become more distant with nature due to technological advancements. People are so fixated on video games, television, and cell phones that they do not appreciate the environment that surrounds them. Years ago humans did not have these inventions, so they were not distracted from nature.
There was no antithesis in the story, the critic decided the story wasn't good enough.
I believe that we are more disconnected from nature as ever. Children never go outside to play anymore, video games, TV, and cellphones have taken over. 20 years ago we weren't taking good care of nature like we do today. There are more regulations as far as pollution and emissions from plants. Still though, as the years go on we are wasteful, with some people still not recycling. And millions of trees being cut down for paper that is wasted. Nature is all that we have and we should take better care of it.
Yes, as a culture, humans are removed from nature more now than ever. The use of machines becomes a maniacal replacement of humans getting dirty in the world, especially in nature. People also do not see what their carbon footprint does the the nature that is around them. The indirect effects of their lives are so inconsequential and blurry that, at first, people do not recognize their effect on nature and the world.

ReplyDeleteThe teacher became the antithesis of the class in order to prolong their discussion.
Society has slowly lost touch with nature, there is no denying that. Too many people are worried about "fixing" nature. Cloud seeding, for example, is nothing more than humans attempting to play mother nature.
Steve was considered a behemoth in court due to his high rate of conviction.
ReplyDeleteBob Robertson was Steve's antithesis in court, always trying to acquit the defendants.
ReplyDeleteThe antithesis to my mom is my father?
Yes we are because the technology has taken over the world and the appreciation for nature went out with the new tech coming in. Now to go the beach people just pull up pictures of the beach and what not.

ReplyDeleteThe behemoth mountain was an antithesis of the smooth fields at its base.
ReplyDeleteAs time goes on and the population of humanity increases, more and more forest lands are cut down.
ReplyDeleteMy new history teacher was like the antithesis of me.

ReplyDeleteArnold was a behemoth of a man; he was 245 pounds of pure muscle.
ReplyDeleteBallerinas are the physical antitheses of bodybuilders.
ReplyDeleteThe protagonist of the story was actually the antithesis to the whole story.
I believe with the evolution of society we naturally conform to the way the world is when were born. As a human we become focused on industrialization and technology, but as individuals we can be as focused on nature what we want.
The Avenger movies always feature a behemoth from another planet attacking and destroying a city.
ReplyDeleteMy opponent supported the antithesis of my argument during our debate.
ReplyDeleteAntithesis (n)- The young boy was an antithesis to his older sister, they might have the same genes but they have no similarities.
ReplyDeleteGillian's behemoth behavior is an antithesis to Jason's good attitude towards life.
ReplyDeleteAlthough identical, the twins were antitheses of each other.
ReplyDeleteThe siblings were the antithesis to each other, one with blonde hair and blue eyes and the other with black hair and brown eyes.
ReplyDeleteEmily did not understand why her mom compared her to the main actress of the film, knowing she is completely antithesis.
Dbag's pitbull is a behemoth.
ReplyDeleteThe dark ages are the antithesis of the renaissance.
Society has lost it's relationship with nature. Nearly everything has been mechanized and become artificial and a solid 95% of the society spends less than 1% of their time in nature or appreciating nature by choice.
The AP English test is like a behemoth, and I shudder every time I think about it.
ReplyDeleteLosing is an antithesis to winning.
The behemoth of a man escaped from jail unseen.
ReplyDeleteCats and dogs are the antithesis of each other based on their attitudes and habits.
ReplyDeleteBecause the liberal woman began to see herself as the antithesis of her conservative husband, they ended up getting a divorce.
ReplyDeleteAntithesis- The antithesis in the passage baffled the readers.
The Lockness Monster is a behemoth creature.
ReplyDeleteThere was no antithesis in the story, the critic decided the story wasn't good enough.
The behemoth of a man killed twenty lions before he was brought down by the pride.
ReplyDeleteThe antitheses of my parents are each other, making them completely compatible in an odd way.
