Americans as of today believe in true freedom, and our idea of true freedom is doing what we want. While at times it may seem unorthodox I believe it is what really makes us American. We are constantly judged for our excessive celebrations and bad eating habits, but we do it because we want to and no one is telling us we can't. Americans can also be serious, when we feel that our freedom is threatened. We will go to extreme lengths to protect our freedom, but it only shows how much we truly appreciate our it. That is what I believe is the essence of being American.
Goad - The lifeguard was the GOAD of the country club, requiring that swimmers under the age of 18 pass a skills test before they were allowed into the deep end of the pool.

Activity: In society today, culture views the people of America as lazy, reckless, and unhealthy. The images of obesity and our personal lack of fitness have caused outsiders to look at America with contempt and disregard for our country's people. However, in reality, the people of America would be better described as, for the most part, working individuals who pursue their goals and opportunities in our country and are happy in doing so. We are very blessed to live in such a wealthy country as the United States, and many Americans often take that for granted whenever they broadly exercise their freedoms and purchasing power. Regardless of our often adventurous spirit, Americans are innovators, overcoming the tyranny that has existed in other countries to achieve a patriotic democracy and government "of the people, by the people, and for the people." We may spend a large degree of our time pursuing personal happiness at the expense of our health, but the visions of our Founding Fathers and the values that we treasure to the present day have made Americans a distinct culture of people, consisting of a "melting pot" of races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds and a unique environment in our nation.

Today, Americans are incredibly diverse. People in this country come from every different kind of background and financial level. As a whole, Americans have pride in our country and the freedom that comes with living here. Many citizens are working for the "American dream" of a good house, stable job, and nice family, just like their parents before them. America, it's people, and our American ideals have been changing and evolving since the beginning of the country, and will continue to do so. However, we still maintain a sense of American pride as we gain new technology and the world progresses.

America in today's world is lazy, self-entitled, and pompous. The people of America show their laziness as they have little to no physical activity and they are content with being fat. Every American thinks that because they are American they should receive everything they desire and live the dream without pursuing it. Most importantly is the fact that Americans are pompous. They have lost the idea of a melting pot nation and have decided that they are better than the rest of the world.

Times have changed since our founding fathers have made the constitution. America has changed a lot and I believe that the change has been good. Women and minorities have the same rights as white men do. Although I must say that racism is still strong in this country. Americans today are incredibly diverse with people from all over the world coming here for a great life. We have come a long way, people today are more logical than religious or emotional. Which is great when it comes to decision making.

I think the best way to describe the people of America is ignorant. I do not believe that every person in America is like this but the events happening right now in our country make it hard to believe that there are more caring people in the U.S. than not. I feel that Americans think they are the best people in the world and they use that ignorance to treat others with disrespect. I think that if citizens of the U.S. were more empathetic, caring, and positive many of the issues that we have going on today would not be happening. Instead of acting this way though, Americans want to discriminate and treat people that are not rich and white with complete disrespect. I am not trying to be negative because I know there are a lot of amazing human beings in America who are trying to make a difference that will better the world, but right now all I see is ignorance in America.
Although the American experiment is still fairly new, it has proven to be quite effective. It allows people in a large number to be heard and have at least a portion of control over what they are and aren't aloud to do. I believe that this has spoiled many people and has the potential of a terrible epidemic of laziness around the world. People in America are as unhealthy as people have been and for the first time in a while, the average age of Americans is decreasing. This is a bad sign and Americans need to get off their collective couched and take action.

Americans today are very mixed. Most Americans are obese and unhealthy due to serenity lifestyle, excessive amount of food consumption, passive entertainment, and lack of physical activity. Americans are very passionate about sports especially football. Americans are also very focus about food where food can be order without getting out of your car.

The people of america are generally proud to be a citizen. Most people take for granted some of their every day comodities and dont think if people in outher countries have them. Americans live very free lifestyles, able to do whatever they want to do, which is why we have become and obese country. Americans have taken advantage of their freedom to such an extent that it is starting to damage the country. Some americans do believe that they live in a "tacky" and trashy country, while other see those characteristics as a symbol of freedom.

The people of America to me are a proud group that are not always the most open. We seem to be a people driven not by happiness so much as money, which is by no means a bad thing. We are a hard working, sometimes backwards people but that's what makes us great. We range from farmers to billionaires and I think that is what is so unique about our people and our way of life. Some may call us insensitive of other cultures, but I view that as a result of the size of our nation, not the attitude of our people.

I believe that America has been drastically changed since the beginning of this beautiful nation. It was once a distinguished, respected country but it is slowly turning into the turmoil of the whole world. People used to come here for the American Dream and to become somebody but now people are greedy and lazy. They say they are proud to be an American but I feel the ways of showing pride for ones nation has changed for the worse, more people break laws on national holidays then people celebrate it in safe, law abbiding way. I feel that the people of America today like to boast about the freedom that we have. As Americans, we tend to take many of our daily things for granted. I believe that America revolves on division and frivolous conflict. There are exceptions of course but from what I have seen, the reasons behind dislike are often based on political affiliation, religion, or other moral differences; sometimes even a preference regarding a sports team. While this separation can be the catalyst for unity, sometimes it can bring about more negative effects than positive. This mindset can breed superiority and ignorance, and I believe that America would be a better place to live if its citizens were more open to the ideas of their counterparts.

Americans are usually perceived as lazy, fat, uneducated people. Surely there are some of us that are intelligent, hard working individuals, but as today's social media and most televison shows broadcast a lot of negative things towards us Americans. A famous show such as the Kardashians, which is a large family of mostly girls who are billionaires for truly doing nothing. Or the show "My 600 Pound Life" showing extremely obese people living such an unhealthy lifestyle and really laying on their death bed. I know there are good people out there, but we need to start show more of them and less of the pointless "entertaining" things. Millions of people across the world watch these American reality shows, so no wonder they believe that we are lazy, uneducated people. I know we can do better with what goes on TV if we just show the true Americans who are smart and outgoing and who actually can do something that's known as talent, then maybe our country would be better looked at. We have so many benefits compared to other countries lets show we actually use them and care.

Americans are perhaps some of the most unique creatures on the planet. Only in America do people celebrate a holiday based on giving thanks for what they have and then the next day go out and shop for more stuff. Only in America is the Fourth of July characterized more by the excitement of hot dogs and illegal fireworks than the pride of our independence. Americans are sloppy, laid back, occasionally ignorant, and driven by the pride of their nation of freedom. Pride for this wonderful country is shown so differently here than in any other corner of the world, and our holidays and traditions are what make the USA unique.

Something I tend to notice is that every generation blends more characteristics of culture, and reaches further from their ancestors country of origin. The melting pot that America was advertised to be has become more and more true; aside from our struggles with inequality. America is a nation that takes pride in its blended society, everyday we become better and develop new ways to assure happiness. Even politicians over the years have acknowledged the contrasting factors between each and every individual, and taken this into consideration while making their decisions.

-The American people are a diverse and ragtag ocean of the disgusting, ignorant, profane, trashy, and less than average. Within this sea stand rocky crags that the intellectuals, socially adept, morally strong, and highly privileged clutch on to in an attempt to fulfill an existence of a higher caliber. Buried deep underneath is a drowned or at least incapacitated mass of complex culture, non-jingoist patriotism, and a proud america, now compressed into goop by the pressure of all that lies on top of it like the oil we so dearly crave, only remembered by those who lived to see it or grew in an air pocket of value within the aforementioned crap sea. But we love our country. It's in our nature. Even the ignorant recognize that we are free to live as scummy or as scum free as we please because we were founded on a set of shining and untouchable ideals, even though we've beaten, desecrated, and smudged those ideals into an unidentifiable, egregious mess, that doesn't take away from what we stood for.

Unlike in Europe, where each country typically has its own distinct culture, America has every culture. In my opinion, this causes the people of America to be both more observant and less observant of other cultures. There are so many different cultures surrounding us every day that we either absorb or reject, adding the ones we like into the broad category of “American Culture.” Americans then tend to be either harsher or more accepting of other cultures. Some more traditional Americans dig through the big melting pot, searching for something genuinely “American” and complaining that other cultures are ruining our own. Others however acknowledge the fact that since the start of our nation, the only thing that makes America truly unique is that we have a little bit of every country, all under the same roof.

I feel that American people are often viewed as fat due to various reasons. I agree. Americans are so caught up on technology and other advancements that they are glued to their phones and never do anything active. I'm not saying all Americans are like this, but most are. If you sit on a park bench in America and view your surroundings, you will probably not see anyone their. If there were to be someone, it'd be like watching a Zombie stare at a screen. Barely blinking and no facial expressions. They also kind of praise eating at fast food restaurants and have a lot of pride toward their creation. I'm not saying that everyone is this way but the majority of Americans are.
